Today I finally submitted the first playable build of Finding Ks, a tiny pixel-art observation game about pareidolia in everyday life — the way ordinary objects suddenly look alive when you stare at them long enough.
This build includes:
I also reworked the screen layout so the 512×512 pixel sprites keep their chunky look inside a 16:9 frame. Pixel-Perfect Camera, safe margins, and UI scaling all took more time than expected.
The track is minimal—soft pads + a few melodic tones—meant to feel like noticing small gods of cuteness around you.
I’ll probably remix it later, but for now it fits the mood.
The Dex now hides unknown Ks and reveals collected ones with name, description, and sprite.
Page navigation and “return to previous scene” buttons are working.
Later I might add variations in sprite scale based on creature size.
This build is small, but it finally captures the core of what the game is about:
slow observation, tiny surprises, and a world that quietly feels alive.
Thank you for playing — and if you enjoyed the idea, please follow ponomae on itch.io for updates.
