Hi again, BitGrinders!
Today’s update brings a bunch of new upgrades, polish and more QoL updates. I promised more upgrades and I delivered. Let’s grind it:
System Upgrade
- Reworked the System Upgrade UI again to give it a more polished, readable look
- Newly unlocked or notable upgrades now flash so you won’t miss them
- Added collapsible menu tabs to clean up the interface
- Rebuilt how upgrade nodes reference each other, allowing new prerequisite paths
- Fixed: players without enough Bits won’t see the green purchase strobe anymore
- Updated the background to better match the game’s style
- Added missing button SFX
- Added two new upgrades: Bitstream Overclock and Data Enrichment
Delta Time
- Added proper delta-time logic so no more random Bit / I.C.E. spawn differences
- Runs now behave consistently on all hardware and FPS levels (HUGE IMPROVEMENT)
Balance
- Re-balanced the whole system AGAIN (Yes, I sat down and play tested it all)
- Reduced overall grinding
- Increased player movement speed
- Increased I.C.E. movement speed
- Improved sector boosts significantly while keeping enemy output fair
Saving
- CRT mode now properly saves between runs - if you turn it off, it stays off
- Removed the in game CRT toggle as it’s now available in the main menu
- Sound ON/OFF settings also now save correctly too
