Last time I had some communication problems with illustrator I originally picked. So I decided to contact a different one. Initially all looked good. When I gave him expected deadline, he apologised, that he couldn't promise to be able to finish work in time. At least we didn't waste each others time. So I decided to send emails with expected deadline to all artists I preselected to see who will respond faster with ability to meet the deadline. A couple hours later I received answer, then we agreed on conditions and she made great job.
However during artwork preparation I "accidentally" discovered that there is another game with same name as mine. Another Wild Wild Space Demo was released two years and two months ago. Which is maybe few weeks or days after I started working on my game. I was a little sad, but I changed name of the game to Celestial Drift. At least, fortunately, I found the other game before capsule art was finished. Next time I will name my next game when I order capsule art to finish Steam page.
So now I uploaded capsule arts to steam and next I need to upload some screenshots and "only" finish descriptions. Also cover image here on itch.io is her work (I only cropped it and scaled it to recommended dimensions) same as new logo in game. I added uploading of demo and full versions to Steam to the deployment script.
I added map drafts and minimaps of each available level to game. Also I added classes of all missing mobs and I started working on first of them. Singleplayer in test version of game from now has maps that will be in full release (for testing I will add wormholes to each of maps), yet those maps are currently empty.
This new build contains these new game updates, history of all project changes is available on my discord server (https://discord.gg/4x8489reYV) in changelog channel for Celestial Drift:
Now when I have prepared empty maps and their sketches I can fill them up with environmental content and effects. Also because I have all required art for the steam page I will finish it and submit it for review this week. Then what is basically missing for full release are contracts, visuals for 17 mobs, visual and audio effects for four weapon/damage types and minor improvements and hopefully near zero bug fixes. If it goes well, I could have new trailer by the end of year.
