Hey, itch.io!
This week was entirely dedicated to character sprite generation.
With over 30 characters planned for the game, my main focus was establishing a workflow that ensures visual consistency across the entire cast. Although I'm using AI tools to assist in the process, it’s crucial to avoid randomness.
I’ve been using a combination of manual sketching, ControlNet, and specific layering techniques to ensure that poses, faces, and outfits match exactly what I envisioned for the story. Speaking of outfits, I’m using a method where clothing is generated and rendered as separate layers, allowing characters to change costumes seamlessly without losing their structural base.
Next week, I plan to wrap up the character art and dive back into writing the script.
