Welcome back to the How to Wizard devlog! This fourth post will be a quick development update in between build uploads.
To increase the difficulty and replay value of How to Wizard, we are implementing a challenge mode. As detailed in our second devlog, challenge mode is unlocked once story mode is completed and consists of slightly revised versions of all the levels. The challenge versions are designed to either revamp levels, encourage a particular way of solving a puzzle or introduce a new layer of difficulty to the puzzle. This is done through slightly changing level composition and restricting exactly which modules are available in each level.
Currently, half of the challenge levels are developed and the rest are on their way. Below are some screenshots to compare the standard version to their challenge versions.
This was a brief look into challenge mode. We're on the last leg of development and will be uploading version 1 builds in a week. Version 1 will have challenge mode and refinements to many aspects of the game. Until then, brace yourselves because we truly believe challenge mode lives up to its name!
