Recently I had put a lot of focus on creating variety on the mid-ground parallaxing layer. I feel like that has gotten to a good place, with five different backgrounds that cycle at random.
The background (sky/nebula) also had good variety and also some planes flying by at random intervals, heights and colors.
But what about the foreground?
First thing I fixed today was the tiling. Now, the foreground (pink/brick-ish layer) will tile seamlessly.
And more importantly- there are now steam grates!
Two of every three foregrounds will have steam grates that will shoot up plumes of steam in a variety of colors that match the aesthetic of the game. They do not do damage, but perhaps one day could?
