Major Update: New Guest Mode + Simple Sign-Up Flow

We’ve rolled out a major update to how Guest Mode works in Goldrush. This change makes it easier to start playing immediately while keeping matchmaking fair and progression meaningful.

🆕 What’s new for guests

• When you launch the game, you now choose a username right away
• Guests can play 7 full matches
• Guests can match against human opponents
• Guests can match against AI players
• Guest Glint and progress are saved locally for those 7 matches
• After 7 matches, a free account is required to continue playing

(Guest progress isn’t permanent — without an account, progress is stored locally and may be lost.)

🎯 Why we changed Guest Mode

The previous guest system used daily Gear and Bot-only matches. The new flow is simpler and matches how the game is actually played:

• Real matchmaking from the start
• No disposable accounts affecting competitive integrity
• Smooth onboarding with no email required upfront
• Natural transition into registration once players understand the game

🔓 What free registration unlocks

Creating an account enables the full Goldrush experience:

• Unlimited matchmaking
• Play against human and AI players
• Permanent Glint, Gear, and progression storage
• Leaderboard eligibility
• Ability to earn and purchase Gear
• A persistent identity so opponent play patterns matter
• Account recovery across devices

Registration requires only an email + password and a quick verification link.

📌 What didn’t change

• All rules for Glint, Gear, and wagering remain the same
• AI players, human matchmaking, and game balance are unchanged
• The game remains fully free to play
