Hotfix Update 11-18-2025
I forgot to do a devlog when I put the demo up this weekend, so this can double as the launch devlog. :)
This is the demo for Atomcraft, a falling sand survival crafting game coming out early next year!
We already have a few updates and fixes:
- updated controls: background interaction prompts now use 'Enter', and 'F' will become the flashlight toggle
- added Cooking Tab to the Hub Window - you can now cook Trail Mix, Berries, Nuts, and Slime Shake
- when you cook a food item, it goes into the toolbox inventory - you can put it in the toolbar and press LMB to consume when you have less than 100% health
- player gets the Jetpack by default (no longer an Upgrade) to make it easier to get around
- Jetpack flame does not set things on fire anymore :-p
- to activate interactable pixels like switches and buttons, left-click on them using the Hand tool
- when left-clicking, the hand cursor now animates
- drill no longer picks up non-solid materials
- increased the damage area on the drill to make it easier to kill bats
- bats and other enemies now take much more damage from heat and will die in ambient heat quickly
- fixed an issue with some ores where they couldn't melt if they were piled up
- improved movement of solids falling through liquids
- when molten Silica condenses, it now becomes loose Glass pixels instead of static pixels, so it won't gum things up
- added new background for Buried City biome
- changed render mode from Forward+ to Compatibility, to see if it fixes issues with Whiskey on MacOS
- BUGFIX: itch.io build no longer tries to invoke Steam Client
