Hey In this log , I’ve put my game to the test and noticed some issues during gameplay, which I’ve now fixed. I wasn’t taking them as serious problems at first, but they were really hurting the game’s flow and overall experience.
My main goal has always been to focus on the horror and the experience — but it turns out that sometimes, you need to guide new players a bit and let them know what they’re supposed to do.
For example, with the light switch in the game, I noticed that some people didn’t even realize they could turn the lights on and off. So, I added a UI element to grab the player attention and let know when they’re in an area where they can interact with the light switches. I also added an emissive color to the material that helps guide the player to the switch if it gets really dark
The same goes for the doors.
I added a UI that shows the door state — whether its locked, interactable, or not interactable
