I’ve completed everything I wanted to make the game feel polished.
Here’s what’s new:
Added player and enemy colors
Added sound effects
Implemented death animations for both enemies and the player
Revamped bullet collisions and gave bullets different sizes
Added statistics tracking
Implemented ramping difficulty: enemy cooldowns decrease on wave clear, and their speed increases when they reach screen edges
Added volume and player color options
Added a shooting star (because why not!)
Synced enemy animations with their movement
Things I could still improve:
The pause and game over interfaces could be better
There’s a minor bug where an artifact sometimes appears with the player’s bullet
Overall, I’m happy with how the game turned out!
