It’s been two interesting months learning the engine and creating something a bit more complex — but still achievable in this short window.
Crafting Back Home is a game about time travel, mixing crafting and clicker mechanics. There’s no way to lose or die — just explore, collect materials, and combine them until you finally build the ultimate piece. To make things more engaging, you can create tools and robots to help you progress more efficiently.
On the technical side, I chose Godot for my solo games because I’ve always wanted to learn it — and I’m loving it. It’s both easy and powerful, allowing me to bring ideas to life without limitations. There’s also another reason: about five months ago, two friends and I founded a collective dedicated to our solo projects, and Godot became our common ground. We constantly exchange ideas and experiences, helping each other make better games. Thanks, Marcelo and Zuardi!
For game assets, I used amazing works from Kay Lousberg, Kenney, and others. I also created a few myself (the hammer and pickaxe are mine), but producing high-quality assets takes a lot of time — not feasible for a two-month project.
I hope you enjoy playing Crafting Back Home. I’ve balanced it to be a short and pleasant experience, around 25 minutes long.
And please — don’t forget to rate and leave a comment, whether you liked it or not. Feedback means a lot!
