Devlog #1 – Early Access update 1.0.0-ea.3

Inspect (Early Access)
A downloadable Inspect for Windows, macOS, and Linux

We’ve just released Inspect 1.0.0-ea.3 – a new Early Access build focused mainly on stability and Native Loopback improvements on macOS.

Over the last two weeks we’ve been going through your crash reports and feedback, and this update is largely about making Inspect feel more solid in daily use.

---

What’s new in ea.3

### Stability & Native Loopback

- Fixed several Native Loopback–related crashes on macOS.

- Native Loopback now works correctly on Intel Macs running macOS 14.4+.

We’ve also added a checkbox in Audio Settings to turn compensation gain for multi-output interfaces on or off when using Native Loopback. Additionally you can use the new Trim feature in the friendly channel section of the Audio Settings to manually apply input gain.

Since we can’t test every interface and routing setup ourselves, your feedback here is super valuable – especially if you’re using more complex multi-output or aggregate devices.

---

Universal macOS build

From this version on there’s now one universal macOS installer that works on both:

- Apple Silicon (`arm64`)

- Intel (`x86_64`)

No more choosing between separate builds.

---

Small but nice workflow tweaks

- Input gain trim for each friendly channel – easier level balancing without touching your DAW.

- FFT legend now clearly reflects the plot filling mode in use.

- Inspect now saves a temp file of your chosen template, so your last state is restored correctly on restart.

- Fixed vertical alignment of channel text in the friendly channel menus in Audio Settings.
