Version 0.0.9 release on Itch of Cube Dungeon Demo!
(I wanted to call it 2.0, but I don’t want to be like those big corporations that can’t count properly.)
This update focuses on adding more fun, variety, and new ways to play.
The first major change: you can now choose your starting character skill, which depends on the character’s profession. You can also adjust your starting stats by distributing 10 additional points however you want. Previously the default stats were HP: 50, MP: 50, SP: 50. Now each stat can be reduced down to 30, and the freed points can be reassigned.
For example: 30 / 30 / 100 creates a character with high stamina but lower HP and MP.
Another major change affects HP, MP, and SP progression. I noticed that many players didn’t realize skills could level up, so I added clear level-up bonuses. Now, every time an item levels up (you can check if an item is upgradable by hovering over it and reading its description), the player rolls a die and gains +5 to a random stat. These bonus stats are temporary and will be lost when skills are wiped upon death.
To make progression more visible, I also expanded item descriptions with details about bonuses at each level. Information about item levels is now grouped and displayed in the inventory screen, making it easier to track your growth.
A small but fun change: every enemy now has a 5% chance to drop a random chest upon death. Bosses and Giant enemies currently have a 100% drop chance (this will be reduced in the future, but for now it’s meant purely for fun).
All changes are listed below.
