Progress report by end of 2025

In Our Headlights (Concept)
A downloadable game for Windows

Hello again!

2025 is coming to a close soon. I wouldn't say I've made a ton of progress, but it's dancing on the edge of becoming a Pirate Software or YanDev situation.

The asset library is growing at a slow pace to keep myself from being overwhelmed. Meanwhile I've come to various understandings about sketching, art, and game design. I'm always growing my skillset, as a person, but that doesn't mean the game is going to be done faster.

I'm still keen on getting a game out in this style. I'm still missing many important elements required for a coherent aesthetic and optimization. On the side I'm thinking of promoting it via shortform animations.

I've dropped the flat shader and began experimenting with lighting. I'd say it actually does give a ton of necessary atmosphere.

I'm taking a graphic design course currently, which hopefully will help me land a job. The largest stressor right now is purely the lack of financial stability and the shame of having to live off benefits. Shame infront of everyone around me. I wish to be better. I appreciate the growing interest in the project and I wish to be more consistent with getting work done on it.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it- I admit, I do wish for help. With what? I have no clue.

I'm not trying to farm sympathy. I need to be transparent to avoid disappointment.

Here's an attempt to make a human character. I'm happy with the face, but I'm not so happy with the clothes (especially the pants).

More various screens and models of how it's gotten better. Some models already have baked textures which is good for optimization.

In other news- I uploaded a video to showcase the project I'm working on.

Thank you everyone for reading and I'll see you soon, later, down the line.
