Hey fighters! This update brings Tank improvements, more frequent events, combat balance changes, and quality of life improvements.
TANK CLASS ENHANCEMENTS
- New ability: Retaliation - Enter a counter stance that reflects 90% of the next damage you take (costs 10% max MP, 3-turn cooldown, cannot reduce enemy below 10% HP)
- Passive reflect damage now scales with missing HP - starts at 5% of max HP at full health, increases to 10% at low health
- Tanks are now more threatening as fights progress and more rewarding to play defensively
EVENT SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
- New encounter: Gambling Den - Three betting options (50g, 100g, or ALL your gold) with different risk/reward profiles
- Events now appear more frequently (25% chance per wave, down from 20%)
- Event cooldown reduced from 3 waves to 2 waves between events
- Events no longer grant XP or increase your wave count - they're now true side encounters
- Training Grounds is the only event that grants XP (rewards focused practice)
- More variety in your run without disrupting core progression
COMBAT BALANCE
- Running away is now more punishing - decreases wave by 2 instead of 1 (minimum wave 1)
- Makes retreat a true emergency option rather than a cheap retry
UI IMPROVEMENTS
- Combat button layout is now consistent - Abilities button always visible (disabled if no abilities learned)
- Fixed issue where Abilities button appearing would shift Run button position
- Ability menu properly displays percentage-based MP costs
TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS
- Implemented percentage-based MP cost system for certain abilities
