Admittedly, this update was quite overdue, but it offers many great improvements! There are new story lines, new & improved dungeon rooms, Wraith enemies, a new system for magic wands, refined combat, and unique racial perks. For the full list, check below. Gameplay
- Hidden Dungeon now has 3 pages from a journal (instead of 1), with one page always found at the first event
- Added maps that inside Undeep Halls reveal which door leads to which place and boss
- Removed Shards
- Removed Bard story line
- Tweak outfits (each race has its own different primary piece)
- Add Wraith enemy type
- Added Mapmaker storyline. This allows you to obtain maps of the Undeep, that guide you inside Round Halls. You meet the Mapmaker and his wife at different places and carry unhelpful items to one or the other (if you choose to do so).
- Added Relic weapons (let me know when you've found out their use!)
- Land rewards are distributed randomly over the lands; the Mapmaker can tell you which reward is in a certain land (if you have that map)
- Land boss battles can be skipped
- Added land intro places that inform what the land's boss and reward is
- Land 2 bosses are Wraiths
- Removed Throne Room
- Second Undeep boss is a Wraith
- Third Undeep boss is double-sized
- Undeep bosses are randomly distributed over the special rooms
- Undeep special rooms grant reward before the boss battle
- Revisited trap/tunnel/darkness places: they consist of two parts - where each part can be instantly solved by special items - and may contain side passages
- Added guarded side passage place
- Chest and hidden loot are instantly solved with special item
- Magic wands no longer use gold, but instead have a limited amount of charges
- Magic wands can be charged through the inventory at the cost of gold, at anytime (but outside combat)
- Magic wands attack bonus is damage booster (like melee now)
- Bows and magic wands are not removed from inventory when depleted (this allows them to be restored later)
- Removed wand wax, limited whetstone and arrow kit
- Melee fury attack is a double action with the same weapon
- Barehanded attack has its own derivative, based on the highest attribute, and is no longer coupled to melee/STR
- Dwarves improve a random melee weapon at an interval
- Humans retrieve a part of the used arrows after victory
- Elves have a wand recharge discount
- Tweaked weapons, bows, spells, items and enemies
Texts
- Journal pages are now called Maps
- New introduction that fits the new main storyline (other texts will follow)
UI
- Added progress stat back (yes, again)
- When arrows can be taken of a bow thats already present button says 'Take arrows'
- Added "offer" button to statues
- Auto switch to a specific inventory tab (once) during "offer" or when new items were added recently
- Removed took/used item paragraphs
- Moved weapon bonus chances from character derivatives to inventory screens
- Standardized condition/arrows/charges notes on buttons
Others
- Switched to Mersenne Twister RNG (experimental)
- After an Undo, the RNG is refreshed, so that identical choices give potentially different results
