Hello Doves!
It's been a few weeks since I've updated you all on the progress of the game! There's a few things I'm working on that you can expect for the next major update! Here's what they are!
New Expressions and Update NPC artwork:
For one, I'm redoing the NPC artwork in order to shrink the size of the game and expand the amount of expressions each character has! Carrie, as an example in the above image! She's my test subject for it! With this new system, most of the of the artwork for each NPC will be sliced up into different parts and - hopefully - shrink the size of the download file in the process! most of the characters will be animated with code instead of full sized pictures! So far, she's worked out nicely! With a few derpy incidents here and there! HUGE shout out to Ekkoberry for all of your help! You're the real goat! 🫶✨
That's right! I'm now working on the werewolf section of the game! It'll take a while to get this done, but I'll try and keep this in the works for you all! I have to write two sides to this monster: Both Lyle and Moxie. The above new image system will help with the physical changes that each of them will have after being bitten! Different eye color, expressions, subtle details, etc. This also means I'm going to be creating new areas with the updated map travel system! Which brings me to my next point:
Revamped Mess Hall and New Areas!
The old style of mess hall is glitchy and hard to navigate. I'm going to GUT IT. This should make a smoother transition in travel and cut scenes with the new set up. It's going to take me a bit to do it, BUT I'm GOING TO TRY! There's already a new area for the nurses station, bathhouse, and the newly added admin building. The mess hall is the BIGGEST area in the game so far. Save for the trails. This also means I'll be adding in the watch tower area and the boat house for Barb. She's waited at that fork long enough I think.
It's that time again where some voices are going to be added to the game! Since the werewolf update is the next major one: I'm hiring for Moxie and Lyle! And, since Moxie and Lucian were the ones that our discord had voted on having the next voice, I decided that you can't have one twin without the other! So, I'm going to be hiring for both Lucian AND Lucy as well! Keep in mind: Moxie and Lyle are also now considered a MONSTER role! So the actors have to be comfortable with growling, howling, and the like. These auditions should be FUN!

A quick note regarding the MC voice: I'm still adding it. There's a little more finesse to adding a voice selection for the player character. There's 3 voices to pick from and some of the audio is... Too spicy to be edited in a public space. 👀I hope to add it when this contest ends!
