Here we are at last. Duck Crossing is a Game Boy assembly game made as a project for college. We were learning assembly on the go and finally we can say the game is fully finished. We encountered all kind of odds through this painful journey: hour long debugging sessions, innaccessible VRAM exceptions coming out of nowhere, VBlank time running out and so mucho more. But after all this and cutting lots of ideas, Duck Crossing is completed.
Soon, after the gamejam results we will publish a postmortem to explain how we developed this (extremely) little adventure and what was cut from the final version.
If you happen to read this article, have fun with Duck Crossing and have a nice day. As for us, it’s time to rest.
