Dragon! Revised Edition Is Here!
Dragon!A downloadable dungeon crawler
Hark, Adventurers bolde of heart!
The Revised Edition of my dark-fort clone is here! Featuring an all-new layout, rebalanced room and encounter tables, and a redesigned itch page, Dragon! is better than ever before! In full detail, the following changes have been made to Dragon!:
- An all-new layout, featuring alternate collage art and clearer text.
- An updated list of inspirations, since replaying The Warlock of Firetop Mountain.
- The Cunning Ranger now begins with 2 Rope, the Questing Knight a Sword, and the Wise Old Wizzard a Wand.
- The dying knight has been renamed to the dying paladin.
- Rules for exploring the Dungeon are now clearer and more concise.
- The first room of the Dungeon is now a cross-roads by default.
- It is now possible to find Secret Doors when returning through Explored Rooms.
- When Traversing Together, each Adventurer needs only 15 Points to Advance.
- The Room Type table has been rewritten to reduce dead-ends.
- The pool of eels trap has been rewritten to explain how you lose a Rope when fishing.
- The locked door trap has been rewritten to explain how you lose a Life when barging it down.
- Monster's loot drops are now more clearly explained.
- Keys are now more common, now being dropped by both the Shadow and the Wraith as well as the Chaos Knight.
- The Chaos Knight no longer challenges thee to duel, instead they draw a braying blade!
- King Dragon now looks more fearsome on the back page.
- King Dragon's attacks have been partially rewritten for clarity.
- The NEWGAME+ has been retitled to The Quest Continues...
- Completing the Second Quest earns thee title of Dragon Slayer, master of the Dungeon!
For such a small game this is a big update! I doubt I'll come to adapt Dragon! again anytime soon, it's more or less exactly what I wanted it to be at this point. I hope you enjoy traversing the depths of the dreaded Dungeon!
May thine sword be ever sharp, and thine cunning ever sharper!
