Here’s a rewritten, professional yet energetic devlog for Carlos Quest — keeping the indie dev charm but polishing the tone and structure a bit so it reads like an exciting progress update you'd find on itch.io or an indie showcase:
All of Carlos’s sprites for the prototype are now fully complete! From idle to dash to his signature attacks, everything’s animated and ready to roll. With the visuals done, all that’s left is to polish up a few placeholders and finish the first test level before we can call the prototype ready.
The first playable stage will take place in a chaotic, neon-lit nightmare called “The Great Casino of Misfortune.” It’s the perfect spot to test the game’s pacing, movement, and that satisfying combo-driven gameplay we’re building. Expect flashing signs, bad luck, and way too many slot machines. 🎰 We’re planning to drop the prototype around Halloween (or close to it) if all goes well!
Carlos Quest takes heavy inspiration from Pizza Tower, with a dash of Sonic the Hedgehog speed and the zany chaos of Noise’s Big Break. The movement is snappy, expressive, and combo-focused — designed to make you feel powerful while keeping that cartoonish energy alive. Things might evolve after the prototype, but the current goal is to lock down a fun, fluid core before we expand.
Not yet! For now, Carlos is holding the spotlight — but we’re keeping the door open for future characters once the prototype is solid.
There is a story simmering in the background — but like any good recipe, we might tweak the flavor before release. Expect mystery, weird characters, and way too much energy drink.
We already have an itch.io page, and it’s now public! You can follow the project there to catch updates, teasers, and eventual prototype releases.
Carlos Quest is shaping up fast — sprites done, level in progress, and vibes through the roof. Stay tuned, because the prototype is right around the corner!
