Note: Whoops, turns out I never actually published this devlog! I'll post it as-is, and a future devlog (probably not my one on the 20th) will act as a to do list for the second semester based off of all the feedback the team and I have received.
Brief devlog this week. Been recovering from a back strain, so I wasn't able to do too much this week.
While resting up, I realized having a timer and death counter wasn't terribly urgent for playtesting, so I've decided to put those on the backburner for the time being.
I've made the basics of three UI elements: The weapon / power the player is using, the health bar, and a skill / focus bar.
Following this, I made the weapon icon in a similar vein. I need to touch this up, but I think it captures the idea of it being multiple lines from an EKG all forming one image.
Finally, I made the focus bar resemble a brainwave thing. I need to touch this up a bit more, but it'll do for now.
One plan I have for these is to change the colors of the monitor lines based on whatever element the player is using, if we commit to taking the game in that direction.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to accomplish much these past two weeks, but I should hopefully be able to get back to working regularly now that my back's mostly recovered. Hopefully I'll have a chance to post next week!
