This video was excerpted from a livestream. I go through the rumor tables from the Troupe Referee’s Guide re-formatting (WIP still!) and using them to generate random events that also act as adventure hooks for the party.
After the stream, I realized that these events can also be sequenced into a sort of adventure. I say sort-of because they only give a very high-level view of things and they present a timeline. The way I look at it, this timeline represents how things are fated to go if no-one alters the fates, ie. if players don’t intercede in some way.
I posted a version of this to my Patreon. I’m not sure if it’s in its final form, but the idea is there.
After posting this, it occurred to me that I had, unknowingly, made something not too dissimilar from the myths in Mythic Bastionland. I haven’t read MB yet but I’ve seen screen-caps of a couple of the myths. We’re not doing precisely the same thing but they both rely on mostly vibes rather than a detailed framework. There’s a bit of draw the rest of the owlbear going on with both. How successful I imagine these would be will depend on how comfortable riffing off of the prompts you are or how much you prep the missing details before bringing it to the table.
