Code - Week 2

What Is Completed

  • The game's combat prototype is fully functional for a wave of combat.
  • 1-2 skills are implemented for the first three characters.
  • Skill creation resources are functional.
  • Formulas for damage are incorporated.

Goals For Week 3

  • Incorporate multi-hit attacks in skill creation.
  • Create an enemy wave system.
  • Incorporate skill critical triggers.
  • Start prototyping the inspiration mechanic.
  • Start creating skills for the other 3 characters.
  • Start prototyping character selection.
  • Change skill wording and formatting.
  • Add targeting for status effects (automatically chosen after regular targeting).
  • Add status effect cleansing and targets for it.

Playtest Report

  • Players were interested in finding out how skills interacted.
  • Players were interested in learning what each character did & pairing them up together well.
  • Players were overloaded with information from the amount of choices with skills.
  • Flourish was an unneeded button.
  • Information wasn't properly implemented in the way players expected.
