Hello everyone! We've released a new update for SOAR, this is a bit of Balance Update after getting some more playtesting data, both from my own runs of it but also from other groups, exciting!

Specifically for BRAWLS, after some more experience with it, I realized I had made things a bit too "balanced".
What I mean by this is I bounded myself to very specific numbers, for example how much damage a certain damage profile should do in general, what's the tradeoff for inflicting a status...
While it worked (mostly), it also lead to everything feeling a bit samey, both for Player Characters and NPC, and it lead to a lack of identity.
So I atomized strict balance, and instead balanced more on "cool" factor, if it works, we will be doing that for future updates.
What this means in practice is that a lot of stuff does added damage, some ranges were expanded, there's more options to get some weird and powerful abilities.
This also should go for some foes, by default they do more damage, we will see how it feels in play, hopefully it'll feel good.
Another change on that line is Strong Hits, they have now been made more common by lowering their requirement from rolling a 6 to rolling a 5 or a 6, this will hopefully make it feel like normal hits are all you roll all the time.
Its the name I gave the special move shop, it allows you to pick up unique moves to round up your build, they all more or less do unique things you cannot find in styles, and it should help people feel like they have more distinct characters.
It outlines the sort of themes you might find in SOAR which can be safety hazards for some folks, I do not outline safety tools, for now I leave that out to a given table to pick what works for their own table, the list of themes is here to help you decide on that.
