This update brings a bunch of improvements focused on helping new players get started and making BitJump feel smoother all around. There’s a brand-new tutorial stage, polished menus and sound effects, and even a cool new feature for discovering hidden areas. Let’s dive in!
New Tutorial Node added to the world map — it’s the very first stop for new players.
Brand-new Tutorial Level teaches the basics: running, jumping, swimming, and throwing your trusty boomerang.
Added signs and dialog pop-ups with smooth fade-in/out and slide animations as well as sounds.
Text appears with a fun “typewriter” effect and fades away when you walk off.
These signs will be used for tutorial hints and NPC chatter in future updates.
Fixed duplicate UI sounds when navigating menus with both keyboard and mouse.
Fixed stacked enemy death sounds — chain enemies now go down with a single, satisfying pop.
Added global sound cooldowns to keep the mix clear and punchy.
Cleaned up water, poison, and lava effects. Previously, when multiple bodies of water, poison or lava existed, splashes could appear in multiple places. Now splashes trigger properly.
Added a brand-new hidden path reveal system!
Certain secret walls or passages will fade into view when the player collides with them.
Great for encouraging exploration and rewarding sharp-eyed players.
Shown off in the tutorial level, but not implemented anywhere else... yet!
This update was all about teaching the basics and polishing the feel of BitJump’s world.
Thanks for playing, testing, and sharing feedback — it’s helping this little blocky adventure grow into something special. đź’š
