Release: Preview 8.2 - Bug Fixes

Wizard School Dropout
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

In addition to the below bug fixes, it turns out old maps weren't being properly deleted after leaving an area, causing save file sizes and load times to grow over time. This is now fixed for maps going forward, and the next time you save an in-progress game it'll run a cleanup to delete any old maps that are sticking around.

Error Fixes

  • Treasure compass should no longer cause an error (I wasn't able to reproduce it so not 100% sure, but I think I fixed the cause of it)
  • Buying certain items in certain situations from a faction would result in the item giving an error when trying to interact with it (mainly slime bottles, but possibly others).
    • Previous items affected by this should fix themselves automatically next time they're interacted with.
  • Creatures dying on unhallowed ground that wasn't created by the player would cause an error.
  • Fixed error message when checking renown score with empty rooms in the tower.


Other Bug Fixes

  • Splitting stacks in your inventory works again.
  • Flying creatures receive the flying condition when being placed on the map instead of the turn after. This prevents ghosts that spawn above chasms or in midair from falling to their deaths.
  • Using the enter key on the character screen now works.
  • Fixed a hang from pressing Up on the spell purchase screen when the top item is already highlighted.
  • Clicking the spell button on the hotbar opens the spell screen, not the spell purchase screen.
  • Splitting stacks works properly again, instead of creating a bunch of stacks of 1.


Other Changes

  • Channel spirits now properly deactivates when using a melee attack with a weapon, not just unarmed attacks.
  • Purifiers no longer identify and take Forbidden Knowledge from you. As much as they'd like to be able to read your mind for evil thoughts, they can't.
