QoL v1.4

Immortality Factory
A browser game made in HTML5

Hey folks! Kept a bit on the down low in the last few weeks. To be honest, the attention was a bit much, haha. I never would have thought that there would be so much interest in this little game. We are up to 55k total plays right now, which is an insane amount, honestly, for that little time since the initial upload. And while interest has reduced itself naturally, there are still a couple hundred players each day.

So here are some new QoL and other things I managed to churn out quietly:

  • 5-way splitters/mergers with priority input/output. This was a highly requested feature. And while some said they want bigger splitters/mergers and others wanted priority settings, I just crammed them into both. This is a later research that you can unlock after having markets. They both work kind of the same, first always splitting/merging from lowest to highest input/output. Just try it out in-game; it should make sense quickly.
  • Clicking on a resource in a machine while having a resource in hand now swaps both.
  • Finished research is now shown below the current available research.
  • You can now also move/drag around the map by holding right click.
  • Added a button in the options menu to reset the view back to 0/0 so even if you explore around, you can easily find your way back.
  • Added a version indicator into the options menu

So, now to put a damper on any upcoming excitement:

I have no intention of putting any more work into Incremental Factory. The game was supposed to be a small project, and I think it currently is exactly what I sought out to make. It turned out pretty well, and I am happy with how it plays now. So I know lots of you folks asked for blueprints, better machine movement, and further FPS optimization. But all of those would not only break existing savegames (which I try to avoid) but would also take a lot more work for me. Work that I would rather spend on new and exciting projects. So sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope even this somewhat flawed game gave you a bit of fun and happiness for a while.

Cheers.
