THE FIRST INSECTOID WAR

Super Space Knights
A downloadable game

8800 (aprox): Hypsion the Explorer reports the discovery of a star cluster near the Eastern Border of the Dominion. He spends many years mapping it and reports signs of a lost civilization.

8951: A scout ship enters an unexplored system. Reports speak of a planet full of dormant creatures. All contact is lost. In the following years, the sightings of mysterious organic spaceships increase exponentially.

8952-8957: All contact with Hypsion Cluster colonies is lost.

8958: Planet Kalbor-5 is attacked by an unknown enemy. Beginning of the First Insectoid War.

8960: The Rabid Eagles space knights join the war. Their hit and run tactics probe essential to gain time for the refugee ships and reorganise the sectorial defences.

8966: Campaign of Segonis System. Xenobiological study of the insectoid threat advance thanks to the sacrifice of the XX Fleet.

8968: The 5th Company of the Rabid Eagles is destroyed forcing the order to retire from the conflict with more than 85% of casualties.

8971-72: Riots and uprisings plague the nearest sectors to the Hypsion Cluster. The Fury Bearers start their infamous Black Purge.

8979: Battle of Garcania. The Blades of the Void destroy a mega-queen causing disorder and disarray in the insectoid forces. End of the First Insectoid War.

8987: The Omicron Phalanx and the Savage Knights launch a crusade against the Hypsion Cluster. Only a few Omicron knights return.

8999: Creation of the orders of the Sentinels of Hekaton and Horizon Watchers to watch the Hypsion Cluster.

9021: Edict of Trapa-Kan. All orders of Space Knights must contribute with at least two companies to the Insectoid Wars in times of need.
