Game Updates as of Oct 12th 2025

Cafe Mayhem
A downloadable game

These past two weeks our team has been focused on organizing the project and expanding the map.

Rae set up the helix plan for the team, finished up the Toon-shader and outline post processer, play-tested the Cinema Cat, Cafe Mayhem, and the Farmer's Market. Rae also added the game's main menu and pause menu. 

Austin fine tuned some animations for the player's cat "Mayhem", he also added the cat's push/pull animations and set up Mayhem's Animation blend space so that the cat can cycle through animations in game. Austin also grey-boxed new areas of the map, the city and the forest (with a bathroom, parking lot, "Liter Lake" and hiking trail).

Dharma grey-boxed new areas within the city, including the apartment buildings and art gallery

Rori built the NPCs needs for each area of the town and added the idling animation to them.

Diane has been researching quest system management and implemented the in game map for the player to utilize.

Mya finished grey-boxing the sewers and began detailing them. 

Emily further detailed the post office, completed the code for picking up and dropping objects, and implemented ambiance sound to the game.


At the end of this first sprint, we have the map layout finalized and the town is ready for quests to start being implemented, although we have to figure out the nitty gritty of our quest system. the cat can move around in game with rough animations and a lot of the vital mechanics for the NPCs and Mayhem (the player's cat) are currently being worked on.
