Fur Quests
A downloadable game for Windows

Greetings, dungeoneers, and welcome to another Fur Quests update — now available over on Itch!

Today’s the big day — we’re finally removing the lock on the nymphomania content for non-backers. This had always been the plan, but since it looks like we won’t be making any more adult content for Fur Quests, it felt like the right time to open it up for everyone. And trust me, no one’s more disappointed about this than me. I had whole quests written, plans for new characters, and expanded intimate scenes for the ones we’d already introduced — not to mention a highly requested wolf character that Fae had started working on!

But with all the restrictions around NSFW content, we just don’t think it’s wise to invest more time and resources into those scenes. Does that mean we’re done with adult content? Nope! Does that mean we’re going to tone things down in the future? Nah! A caveat a lot of these policies have is that almost anything is allowed if it has sufficient artistic merit. So what does that mean? Well, it means that if a game has more than just lewd content GTA can have strip clubs with very NSFW game mechanics. It also means Baldur’s Gate 3 got to… well, if you know, you know.

Fortunately, this is something we’ve been wanting and preparing to do for quite some time. Many of you already know I’m an aspiring 3D artist, and I’ve been wanting to bring our characters into the third dimension for years now. But it wasn’t until this year that I finally reached a level that matched Fae’s art style — and felt ready to take the next step. I also challenged myself to finish a monster model in no more than a week, and it turned out pretty sweet!

And now, with the responsibility for the art not resting solely on Fae’s shoulders, I’m hoping we’ll be able to produce tangible results much faster than before. I’ll be handling the 3D models, we’ve got another artist working on environments and UI elements, and of course, Fae will remain our main illustrator. Together, the results should hopefully look something like this small test we did a while back.

Even though it was a fairly quick experiment I threw together in about 20 minutes, I’m still really excited about it — and I can’t wait to see it polished in the future. But not until Fur Quests is finished in RPG Maker. We’ve worked too hard, and you’ve given too much, for us to abandon it. Today I shrank down the interior of Cliffshade — hopefully for the last time — and reworked a lot of the quests to fit the content we have now, instead of what we originally planned. I’ll be working on integrating that over the next couple of weeks while I wait for Fae to finish the battle sprites for the final area of Fur Quests. Until then, thank you all for your patience and support.
