Hello everyone,
It’s been a busy week for Into the Unknown!
Work has continued on Act 5, and I’ve also started developing subclasses for a brand-new original class, the Overclocker. I’m excited to share some of these subclasses with the next few weeks in Tuesday subclass highlights, so stay tuned!
I have also been preparing for the Into the Unknown: First Steps campaign that I’ll be running with a few of my friends as players. This started with the release of SD-830095’s backstory, which is available to all members, both free and paying.
With the release of SD-830095’s story, it became clear there was an issue with the Cybernetic race. Originally, they were vulnerable to lightning and ion damage. At first, this made sense, but as I’ve continued developing the tech deployments, it’s become redundant. Lightning damage can affect both organic and cybernetic creatures, while ion damage only affects cybernetics, meaning no one would ever use ion damage when lightning can achieve the same (and more).
Because of this, I’ve removed the default lightning damage vulnerability from Cybernetics. Instead, it now appears as part of the Cybernetic Corruption Table, meaning it can be gained later as part of the Undying feature. I’ve also updated all Cybernetic NPC stat sheets in First Steps to reflect this change.
Below is the most up-to-date version of the Cybernetic race. This version isn’t yet included in Murphy’s Field Guide, but it will be added in the end-of-October update.
I hope you enjoy these changes, and if you’d like to receive regular Dev Logs like this one, feel free to join the page as a free member; they’re available to everyone!
