AREwVS (alphas -1a and -1b) released on Itch!
As of October 11th, AREwVS alphas -1a and -1b have been made public. Originally packaged on October 10th, development started around two weeks ago.
Why are the alphas in negative numbers? It's a prototype of my idea to bring back the game and give it the care it needs. I'll probably take it out of the negative number increments once I get to finishing the History Level.
Spoilers for added content below!!
Alpha -1a release:
- New enemy: The Camera
- Spawns in the Math Level.
- Has limited vision, so try to sneak around it if possible.
- If it sees you, it will try to take your picture with a bright flash (don't look)!
- Inspired by the camera asset seen in the Red Room of the Math Level!
- New difficulty: Hard
- An intermediate difficulty between Default and Brainiac, made so that Brainiac can be restored to former glory without creating a difficulty gap.
- Halloween feeling.
- Pumpkins spawn around the maps. Head Teacher's cat costume is automatically applied as well.
- (Via device clock) lasts from early October till the start of November.
- Some QOL changes.
- Recoded Viktor among other things.
- Viktor changing time now depends on difficulty.
- Locked doors now have color-coded handles for the corresponding key.
- Helpscreen in Tutorial can now be skipped.
- Some bug fixes and changes.
- Restored some early alpha Notebook sounds.
- Re-added some removed item placements in the Math Level.
- Re-added insanity death.
Alpha -1b release;
- Added the Camera to the Language Level.
- Marzia getting angry now can activate the Camera.
- Buffed Viktor's finale walk speeds for all difficulties.
- Fixed an oversight where Viktor and the Camera used the Default difficulty stat values regardless of the picked difficulty.
