Engine: GameMaker: Studio 1.4
Tagline: Mining, cooking, exploring, and surviving — all in a day’s work on an asteroid.
It’s been a busy stretch! Over the last few builds, Moon Rocks and Slimes has grown from a simple mining prototype into a true space survival sandbox — complete with food chains, machines, maps, and even a working suit power system.
Below is the full list of everything added so far.
Redesigned the Home Screen UI with a cohesive color palette.
Rebuilt the Logo in pure pixel art.
Added Hover Descriptions to buildable items.
Moved Cost Messages to the top of the screen.
Introduced Air/Oxygen Systems for sealed rooms.
Added Power Systems — generators create power, thrusters consume it.
The first big step toward turning Moon Rocks and Slimes into a living simulation.
Added new materials: Silver, Titanium, and a Coal Producer.
Added Magnetic Pickups — resources now zip toward you.
Introduced a Warping System (Shift + Arrow Keys).
Added new ingredients: Milk, Cheese, Cheesy Potato, Cheese Bread, Loaded Baked Potato, Pizza, Noodles, and Spaghetti.
Basically, the game turned into Space Chef Simulator overnight.
Added Meat Cubes and Meatball Recipes.
Combined Noodles + Meatballs = Spaghetti & Meatballs.
Added Meatball Pizza.
Expanded the Food Chain System with proper ingredient logic.
Refined Crafting UI and food stacking behavior.
If you can mine titanium and bake a meatball pizza, you’re officially thriving.
Added a Map System — press M while in Space Mode.
Added a Map Console that must be built to use the map.
Map now shows Asteroid Types and Quantities at each coordinate.
Added a Rock Tracker to bookmark discovered asteroids.
No more aimless drifting — the stars finally have coordinates.
Added a Prep Table workstation.
Moved most food recipes here.
No coal required!
Meatballs now require bread.
Cooked Meat added as a new standalone recipe.
The kitchen’s open, the smelter’s clean, and dinner no longer smells like molten iron.
Added a Water Condenser — generates water passively from the atmosphere.
Added a Metal Press — converts raw metal into Plates for advanced crafting.
Integrated both into the Power System for base automation.
Your asteroid base just became a factory. Less scavenging, more building.
Added a Suit Battery — powers tools and equipment.
Added a Recharge Station for restoring suit energy.
Added a Suit Light, drawing power from the suit battery.
Added Low-Battery Flicker Effects and HUD integration.
Power up, light up, and don’t die in the dark.
Plate-based Crafting Chains for advanced gear.
Map Zoom & Warp Integration for navigation.
Cooking Station Upgrades and nutritional bonuses.
Suit Modules — oxygen efficiency, armor, and scanners.
Each update pushes Moon Rocks and Slimes closer to feeling like a self-contained world — where every machine, recipe, and system connects together.
What started as a quirky mining sandbox is turning into a full-on survival experience.
Mine. Cook. Recharge. Repeat.
