Attention Unity Game devs & players: DON'T use the security patch!

I got this email and it appears that many others did too. And unfortunately, it seems that many developers are actually taking it seriously, and patching their games, including old games, with nothing changed except for this so-called "security" patch.

I'm not much of a unity user and my games are made with other programs so this does not affect my games. But I nonetheless feel the need to make a moral announcement as it pertains to my games' moral message in real life.

If you are a developer - I encourage you not to apply the patch to your game. 

And if you're a player, I encourage you not to update the game with the patch, especially when the patch is the only thing that's changed! I also encourage you to make backup copies of the unpatched versions - and to share them around as much as possible.

The important thing here - is that the company that makes Unity is just trying to gaslight you into partaking in fascism. 

They're only trying to prevent piracy and trying to prevent big companies from being hacked. There's no actual danger so don't fall for it!
