AnimSprite Maker – A prototype growing step by step

At first, AnimSprite Maker was born from a very simple need.

I’m working on a C++ game, and a friend of mine, who is a graphic artist, had to design the main character. The problem? He didn’t know how to preview the character’s animations once the sprites were drawn.

So, to help him, I decided to build a small program that could load sprites and show the animation in action. It was supposed to be a quick tool, just for my own project… But as I worked on it, I thought: “What if I push the idea a little further?”

A first prototype

Today, I’m happy to share the very first version of AnimSprite Maker, still a prototype. Right now, it’s only a trial version that lets you import your sprites and preview animations. Simple, but already useful!

What’s next?

I’d like to take it further. For example, by adding the option to generate a JSON file with animation data that could be reused in your games. I still have many ideas in mind, and I don’t want to reveal everything just yet… but this project is meant to grow.
