#zombie #tabletop #survival #horror
So several years ago when I first started play tabletop, immediately I wanted to design my own. At the time I was a huge fan of The Walking Dead, so myself and a friend decided to homebrew a zombie game based on 5e that lasted all of...one session. However, years later after I began to develop games professionally, the idea came back & I had a feeling it would be a fun project to try.
As of now, there have been three versions of Extinction that I have released. Each version slowly iterating on the last in some shape or form! I have brought it to the public to play & have been met with great reviews of it, however I still do not believe it is perfect. Nothing can ever truly be perfect, but it never hurts to strive for it, right? That being said, the version that is released now (the one on my itch page & on dtrpg) is technically a "Soft Launch". Think of it like a late-stage beta. I have roughly 90% of a GM toolkit written for it, it was the last thing I was working on before my company split & I went solo. Since then, I have decided to pursue Extinction as a full release game, but knew I still needed some time.
So with it being s "Soft Launch" I am planning on doing a Kickstarter for it in February for Zine Quest. I have a lot of content already written for it, but it's not ready to release per se.
What I would like from you all, the players, is to give me a review on the game itself. What do you think about it? What would you change? What feels clunky & what feels good? Remember, the GM toolkit is essentially a scenario builder and basically a full on GM guide. So with it still being a work in progress there are probably some things that I can still add to it that the players want!
I look forward to your replies! I'll be posting several times between now and then talking about it. Until next time!
