Alpha Demo Release 1 is out now!
Woah, this is a huge update! Welcome to the first Alpha release of Scruffy Minus! This update brings a whole bunch of new features, levels, changes, and fixes... Enjoy!
- Added Character Switching during Single Player Campaign Levels!
- Press the left trigger or right trigger (or Q or E) while playing single player and as the Super Freaks to change between them
- Added the Speed Suit, a power-up that lets you move very quickly!
- Added Targets to various stages, that give some Coins when broken with a Battle Suit Fist!
- Opened The Museum! Explore a large environment with statues and blurbs about various characters and objects from the game
- Added the Soundtrack Mode! Listen to a selection of songs from the game!
- Also added the Cutscene Theater! Watch a selection of the wacky cutscenes from the game!
- Cutscene Theater and Soundtrack Mode are accessible on the left side of The Museum
- Added Museum to the main menu
- The Shadow (In Meteor) now spawns Shinob-Eies, who will throw small Shuriken when the ship is directly above them! Carefully navigate during the boss fight!
- Added Freaky Fields, the next Campaign level!
- Added B.U.D.D. Ludicrous World, the next Secret level!
- Based from the layout from Super Freaks 1 Ultimate Edition's crossover with B.U.D.D. by EngineerKappa, and taking place after the events of the satellite mission, experience an odd story of Kranion's robots going berserk again!
- Added Freaky Fields multiplayer Race Area!
- Added new enemies, Wheel-Eies, to Rally Valley
- Added new areas to The H.U.B.
- Added an interface to the top of The H.U.B., showing the name of the Character Switcher or Race Area you're standing in front of
- Added a new death sound effect
- Added a new original song for The Shadow (In Meteor)'s boss fight
- You now stay facing in the direction you start in while holding a Battle Suit Shot
- Added wall sliding sprites for the Acrobatic Suit, and you properly face away from walls when sliding
- The Scrapmobile's Nitro Boost now appears like a health bar
- You can boost as long as it's greater than 33%, and the bar is gray when you cannot boost
- The fuel replenishes automatically
- Changed the game's title screen
- As the yearly weekly event concluded, and the game state is now Alpha Demo, removed the SAGE 2025 splash screen and logo from the title screen
- Changed the release tag
- Improved swimming mechanics: hold down Jump to swim upwards
- Added splashy sound effects
- Characters are no longer no longer super squashed while idling underwater
- Added the Cheat Code menu
- Moved Fast Forward to the Cheat Code menu
- Added Always Acrobatic Suit and Always Speed Suit to the Cheat Code menu
- Be careful! The suits can let you into unintended areas, and the combined power is very fast!
- Added Screen Crunch Mode to the Cheat Code menu
- The camera on platforming sections is super-duper zoomed in! The game is really hard to play!
- Adjusted the spacing on the level select menus
- Adjusted the characters' mid-air squishing, and squashing upon landing
- Changed Battle Suit Fists' effects when hitting solid walls, invincible targets, etc.
- Spikeballs are solid and impassable now, to the player and Battle Suit Fists
- Kranion Minus' junkpile now destroys Battle Suit Fists
- Added symbols for Hearts, Battle Suit Fists, and Targets to the HUD
- Adjusted the section after the lemonade in EX Fruit Juice Factory
- Adjusted the section next to the bottom of the crane in Kranion Construction, explaining Coins and Hearts
- Made Springboards wider, and added some in various levels
- Fixed Battle Suit animations
- Remade and made additions to, the Credits
- You can now skip the death animation after a short amount of time by pressing Spacebar/Z/the bottom face button
- Shortened invincibility frames when hit by enemies in single player
- Adjusted knockback when being hit by enemies on ground
- Reduced screenshake intensity when being hit by enemies
- Coins get faster the longer they're active after being close to the player
- Added Custom Levels, a feature coming soon, to the Main Menu
