Devlog Update 🌀 Boomerang Adjustments

Hey everyone! Time for another round of boomerang updates — this one’s all about making the weapon feel sharper, fairer, and more satisfying to use.

🎯 Charge Levels Get Extra Spark

The boomerang’s charging now showers extra sparks that fly outward in little bursts. Each charge tier ramps up the spectacle:

  • Level 1: 4 sparks

  • Level 2: 6 sparks

  • Level 3: 8 sparks

They all line up with the charge glow, so the visuals now match the power you’re building. It looks and feels much snappier!

🧱 Breakable Blocks Behave Properly

Before, the boomerang’s “hit cooldown” made it possible to slip through more breakable blocks than intended. This was because the cooldown skipped collision checks for a few frames while the boomerang was still flying.

Now every block smashed always counts as a hit. No freebies — each one chips away at the boomerang’s piercing allowance. If you’ve only got a few hits left, you’ll feel the tension when deciding whether to cut through a wall of blocks or save that pierce for enemies.

👹 Enemy & Bomb Collisions Smoothed Out

  • Enemies are still handled with a short cooldown to prevent “double hits” while the boomerang overlaps them. This applies specifically to larger enemies, where the boomerang could accidentally hit the enemy twice as it passed through it if it was charged.

  • Big enemies continue to take multiple strikes before going down, while small ones pop instantly.

  • Bombs always force the boomerang to return, making them a tactical hazard (or opportunity, depending how you play).

✨ Overall Feel

The boomerang is more consistent now:

  • Every spark adds visual flair to the charge.

  • Every block smashed counts properly.

  • Every enemy struck reacts the way you’d expect.

It’s more predictable and more fair than before.

That’s it for this update! Give the new boomerang a whirl and let me know if it feels tighter — or if you find some new tricks with the updated block-breaking. 🌀
