Alright, it's the wrap-up for the second major post-launch update of SKA! This one quite a bit smaller than the last one as it only focused on the Roland bad ending. Note that Roland content is not done yet! If you enslaved Lorraine in Nothing But The Truth, Roland will be getting more events in 1.3.0.
But let's focus on this update instead of the future. As I mentioned, the main contribution is the new Roland Bad End which can be triggered at the Reverse Summoning Ritual. As usual, detailed progress reports, I will point to the weekly development devlogs. Here I will give a summary on the major update and give some more details on what has been added during this dev week specifically.
In numbers, this update has 10k new words, 5 new epilogue scenes, 2 new H-CGs, 2 new bgms, 1 hair color variation, 2 new costumes, 5 new pixel art animations and a major upgrade for the deluxe console in the form of the character editor.
For the Roland Ending, I don't have a lot to add say in this post without repeating details from the devlog or moving into spoiler land. Our artist finished and I integrated the first of the 2 ending exclusive H-CGs (focusing on Claire and Richard). There will be one more H-CG before the full 1.2.0 release that's missing here. The last scene will also get its own CG, but it's fairly complex so it will take some time to create.
For the costumes, note that this ending uses the Pet Costume. We have also added a new costume called the Latex Costume, but it currently can only be used from the Deluxe Console by reaching the end of the main Roland content. In 1.3, the costume will also be used in sceens.
A good chunk of time went into the integration of the assets our arist, pixel artist and also since this month our composer have created. We have a new CG for the Earth events to illustrate the Richard and Aura kissing event and probably most important the Platinum Hair Color variation.
You can pick this alternate hair color when implanting the blonde hair color mental change and it's reflected in all H-CGs.
Various NPCs in Roya also received new pixel animations - the drunk guard who can get fired if you steal the Congregation Funds has a drunk animation, the inn keeper polishes some glasses, the alchemist shakes some potions and the fence worker in Riverflow does some fence working. The most important pixel animation though is for Claire who now DOHOHOHOHOHOHOs in pixel art.
Meanwhile, our new composer YourVinished has replaced the two most prominent default RPGMaker tracks - the Title BGM and the default combat BGM - with original pieces. The old combat BGM is still in the game but gets triggered during miniboss fights.
Besides content creation and asset integration we have also been hard at work to squeeze in polish work here and there. Verdeaux got some extra NPCs (Just 3 really minor ones though x_X I wanted to add a complex one with a routine as well but didn't get to it.), at the Maid Full TIme Job you can now receive a powerful Draconic Scale material at Maid Performance 80, and I generally further improved the willpower balancing on the betrayal check.
Besides Roland's, we also have a new epilogue ending scene: Cheating Partner John. Do him at least 5 times and don't go too far with the other partners to trigger his ending scene variation where Aura keeps up her relationship with John post-ending.
Finally, a big addition in the polish section has been made by our assistant developer Trihan who has been working on the deluxe console character editor. Using it you can not only now change Aura's appearance in Roya but also on Earth. If you want to unlock all costumes, use the Unlock All H-Scenes and Unlock All Earth Scenes cheats. Trihan has also continued the work this week by making the Glasses setting for Earth Aura also editable and ensuring that the newly possible combinations in the editor won't cause the game to crash.
Aaaand that's it for this major update! Itch build will be coming soonishly. Main release of this update will be on 31st October, if you are on steam you can play it through the steam beta branch. In that case you will need to install the beta adult-content patch however. Information on how to get that is in the Discord.
After this: A minor prerelease update for Liora containing the new cut-in animation!
