Welcome to the initial prototype for the tabletop game Glow Up. A game by Alexander Heppner, Jonah Howell, Ella Mack, Tyler McGrew, Tony McNeil, and Cameron Willis.
Overview: Glow Up is a game designed to teach kids about the fashion industry, encouraging creativity while also utilizing sustainability practices such as reuse and recycling as core gameplay mechanics.
Summary of Gameplay Mechanics: Before starting the game, each player (2-4) gets a miniature mannequin or dummy, three gold stars, a pair of safety scissors, and three square cuts of different colored/patterned cardboard. Each player begins the game by drawing a runway card, which provides a topic or theme to design their mannequin around. The players must read the runway card aloud. Each player will then choose one piece of cardboard to decorate their mannequin with.
The player does not need to utilize the entire piece of cardboard per round. Excess cardboard not used may be used in future rounds. After two minutes, each player presents their designs to the others. Each player will give one gold star to the player they think has the best design. A player can not give a gold star to themselves.
For rounds two and three, the same structure follows, but each player draws a mishap card starting at that round. Mishap cards can set stipulations on other players, as well as allowing players to take or trade materials with other players.
The player with the most gold stars at the end of three rounds wins the game.
