Hi everyone,
This week I made a big step forward in Kukata: Word of Ghosts! I finally combined the toilet tileset, Unity’s 2D lighting system, and a simple UI into one playable scene.
Tileset implemented in Unity’s Tilemap
2D Lighting for atmosphere (focused flashlight beam)
UI elements (player portrait, health, stamina)
This is one of the first environments players will explore: the school bathroom — a place where ghosts lurk, and the light is your only comfort. I want the darkness to feel suffocating, while the flashlight creates tension by only revealing small portions of the map.
Does the lighting feel scary enough?
Is the UI too simple, or just right for now?
Any suggestions to make the atmosphere stronger?
