Dev Log #10 - Act 2 Part 2 Progress

Naomi: Breaking the Queen Bee
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hi Everyone,

Before jumping into the update, I wanted to start off by saying that while I'm generally pretty happy with the quality of the release and I have received less reports of spelling errors this time around, the release wasn't without a few hiccups, three of which I'll cover quickly. For one, I made a significant typo in the anal trainer scene where I wrote the first question's answer as "psychological" instead of what should have been "physiological" (dumb monkey brain). Next, there are two renders with a continuity error where Naomi threw a pillow and that pillow appears back on the bed before "Sir" throws it back to her. Finally, there is a bug on the bottom "Options" menu due to a typo in the code (see Bug Report posted previously). These things, while perhaps not game breaking or make the novel unreadable, still frustrate me as I strive for a high quality on each release. I try to remind myself I am a one man show here with no team or beta testers, so I realize I won't be able to catch every single little detail no matter how much I try. I just wanted to say I really appreciate people's kindness and grace in pointing out the errors and to encourage people to continuing sending them my way if they find something. All of the items discussed above are already fixed for the next update.

Now, moving on to the update. Act 2 Part 2 is currently sitting at ~1530 words of dialogue, 0 renders, and 0 animations. While it doesn't seem like much progress happened this week, I've been actually working on a lot of auxiliary stuff. First off, I've re-outlined Act 2 Part 2 to tighten up the pace in certain areas of the plot while adding a bit more depth to other sections of the plot. Next, I've spent some time making new minor characters and new outfits for existing characters. Finally, I spent some time gathering music for Part 2. Starting this week though, I'm basically ready to get into render/animation mode again, so look forward to some progress for the next update!

Since I don't have any renders to share, instead I'll share a small improvement I worked on. I received some feedback that depending on the background, it can be a little hard to read the text because there isn't a text box background. To help with this, I am adding a function in the options menu to adjust the text box opacity. There will be a slider in the options menu, which will add a black text box to the dialogue box as seen below.
