For this jam, I submitted a 2D sidescroller inspired by Super Mario Bros. (1985). The levels were original, but I reused the warp pipe mechanic. The error I made was that I had forgotten to add a win condition at the end. Instead, when the player reaches the final pipe, the game restarts back at level 1-1. That mistake became the feature. The game loops endlessly, turning it into a survival challenge where players see how long they can last while collecting coins and score. This jam was a valuable experience. It reminded me that sometimes mistakes can lead to creative mechanics, and it encouraged me to think about how unexpected outcomes can enhance gameplay.
