Patch Notes "A Blast from the Past"
Greetings, Guardians!
We've been hard at work, and this month's update is packed with new visual flair, exhilarating story events, and some much-needed fixes to get you back into the Nexus. Get ready to experience a more dynamic and rewarding journey!
New Features & Visuals
- Flashy Explosions! Bosses and Elite enemies now go out with a bang! We’ve added a larger red pop animation upon their death, coupled with a shower of sparks that fly out in a 360-degree circle. As an extra treat, the sparks from bosses, elites, and normal enemies are now distinct, using a mix of different
.png assets.
- Stretch Goal Achieved: Sparks now bounce off the edges of the screen, creating a contained and chaotic spectacle!
- Borderlands-Style Damage Numbers: Every hit now feels more impactful! We've implemented floating damage numbers that pop up with every strike, inspired by the style of Borderlands.
- Normal Damage: Appears in white text (
#fff) with a black border (#000000).
- Poison Damage: Ticks now show up in a vibrant green (
#c2ff30) with a black border.
- Burn Damage: Ticks are now an fiery orange (
#fb923e) with a black border.
- New Story Events: The Nexus has become more alive with new random encounters on your journey!
- The John-pocalypse: A crew member dispute event that forces you to make a tough choice.
- The Space Station: Choose to risk it all for a chance at powerful rewards.
- The Asteroid: Decide whether to brave the dangers for exotic minerals.
- The Strange Illness: Help the doctor find a cure and a bonus relic, or let the crew rest and move on.
- The Space Bar: Stop for a drink and choose to Rest for 30% HP, Intimidate for 10% Max HP, or Fight and gain the new "Pete's Broken Tooth" relic.
- Dice Roll: Try your luck with the new dice roll event for a chance at amazing rewards—or a chance at losing health!
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Card Selection Softlock: We're still working on a permanent fix for the bug where the card selection screen gets stuck, but we've added a "Skip" button to the card selection screen to allow for continued testing and to prevent runs from ending prematurely.
- Relic Tooltip: You can now tap on any relic to display a tooltip with a description. This will darken the other relics and show a new "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen.
- Run Failsafe: We've added a failsafe that will automatically end the run if no enemies are near the tower for two seconds. This prevents the game from getting stuck in an unwinnable state.
