Dev Log Week #1
September Week #1
Currently, my idea for a game is either a horror approach, taking inspiration from series such as The Mandela Catalogue or the Backrooms, or a self-aware type of game, similar to Stanley Parable.
I decided upon a second person perspective, where it’s narrated by referring to the protagonist as “you.”
Intruder:
- Mandela Catalogue or horror shapeshifting anomaly inspired narrative game (you are home alone and someone’s at the door.)
- You, the protagonist, are home alone, and you must make the right choices till the sun rises.)
Is This a Game?:
- Self-aware game where you are trapped and must escape, and the game itself basically talks to you and you make choices to try to get out of the game, but the game wants you to stay.
Mechanics/Concepts:
- Maybe a built-in world timer up till 6AM, if it runs out you automatically lose/get killed
- Maybe the choices are timed so it forces you to make quick decisions. If you run out of time when choosing a decision, it will automatically give you the worst choice (some of them are timed responses, not all)
- BestChoice, OkayChoice, BadChoice, WorstChoice
- Fast paced(?)
- If you beat the game before the world timer runs out, you win.
Goals to Accomplish:
- Figure out how to implement the timer (HTML)
- Learn how to add images into Twine
- Write up the story
- Concept art for the game
