v03 patch notes: 5-digit scores, slime cancels and more!

Hungry Huey
A browser game made in HTML5

Thanks to everyone reporting the bugs and undesired behaviours in v02. You’ve been a great help in improving the game!

Here's the full list of updates / improvements:

v03

  • 5-digit scores are in! You can now set a score that is higher than 32768 (the max for a 16-bit integer).
  • You can now cancel / turn slimes back into jellies by pressing SELECT while you’re creating a slime
  • The fullness meter now stays locked when the board is still updating (some players experienced this as a penalty)
  • The speed of the fullness meter has been tuned up slightly in early levels to adjust for the previous change
  • Fixed the glitches that occurred after playing longer than 9 minutes, 59 seconds
  • Made the cursor more performant after clearing a slime
  • Polished the cursor animation
  • You can now Press A already (“lock” your next jelly) before the board has fully updated. This should speed up the gameplay a bit when things get more hectic. Once the board has fully updated, the cursor starts animating, indicating the board is ready for you to create a slime.
  • Bonus items won’t appear on the board any more if you turn them off in the menu.
  • Intro messages (Chomp!/Feast!/Munch!) now disappear a bit quicker
  • Issues with the Level up message not being in sync are now fixed
  • Increased the text speed in the Tutorial dialogue
  • Adjusted the drop colors in step 3 of the Tutorial to prevent a “No moves” scenario

v02

  • The Hi-score option in the submenus now actually leads to the leaderboards.
  • Fixed a line wrapping issue in the Tutorial
