#map-of-the-week
I uploaded a new random-week map called Gopherheights. You’ll notice a twist: there’s prebuilt track on the board. Some of it is neutral, and some belongs to specific companies. The intent is simple - to see how it feels when the geography itself lends a little shove to development, instead of every inch being laid during play.
Does it change tempo? Does it make some starts more obvious? Or does it just smooth out the early turns? I honestly don’t know yet. That’s the fun of it. If nothing else, it’s another knob to turn in the design space.
If you try out Gopherheights, let me know if the prebuilt rails stand out, or if they blend into the usual puzzle of track and timing.
Was noodling with an editor this weekend. We'll see if it comes in handy.
