The Maps & Mishaps Public Quickstart is out Now!

It's here! SHORTCUTS, the official Quickstart for Maps & Mishaps, is now available!

The goal of this version of the game is to give a simplified introduction to the basic structure and mechanics of the game. The full release, which will be coming to Kickstarter in early 2026, will take everything a step further and add additional narrative mechanics to better support longer adventures with deeper and richer narratives. This includes:

• Double the Prompt Cards - Double the prompt cards! Separate decks for traveling through wild environments versus spending time in settlements!
• Richer Character Mechanics - Deeper character mechanics to help connect your character's arc and growth to the actual moment-to-moment gameplay! 
• Additional Choices - A whole "action" system that grants you even more agency in what you do, giving you additional ways to shape the narrative and add obstacles to your Travelers' journeys!
