Decker 1.58 is a maintenance release which enhances the generality of fields, rich text, and custom brushes.
Custom brushes now have information about the absolute coordinates of brushstrokes, which among other things make it possible to design brushes which draw ordered dithers. You can read about this feature in the updated All About Brushes:
Fields now have a .pattern attribute which specifies the pattern used to draw text. Rich-text tables also support an optional "pat" column specifying patterns for individual spans. Together, these enhancements make it much easier to use color in fields, alerts, canvas-based text drawing and libraries like Dialogizer. Choosing an animated pattern even makes it possible to emulate the beloved blink tag anywhere rich-text is displayed! The pattern-picker modal has been redesigned to unify 1-bit and 16-color selection, for improved usability.
The additions to the structure of rich-text tables are very unlikely to break any existing code, especially if your scripts have made use of the helper routines in the rtext interface, which have all been updated accordingly.
