No Space For Salad is a chill adventure & cooking game where you play as a tiny space critter running a food truck among the stars. Your mission? Feed alien creatures using strange ingredients gathered on distant planets.
The game mixes exploration, cooking, and light management in short, relaxing sessions.
This project is inspired by our small game jam prototype, Lapinaut.
You can play it here on itch.io: https://tiidy-shell.itch.io/lapinaut
Feel free to try it out and imagine that this small rabbit ends up running a food truck in space.
You’ll embody a small animal astronaut, freshly recruited by the intergalactic food truck franchise.
No Space For Salad is a local co-op experience.
From the start, the game is designed to be playable by two players in split-screen. It’s always better with a friend.
At the beginning, you can choose between different animal avatars. It’s not a skill-based choice, but a matter of taste: which creature do you feel most connected to?
The core loop alternates between two types of sessions:
Explore alien planets
Collect strange ingredients by interacting with plants and creatures
Use simple tools and upgrades
Watch your oxygen, but take your time — no game over here!
Some secrets and narrative bits are hidden
Return to your food truck to prepare dishes
Use the ingredients you found to make alien meals
Serve customers with simple interactions
Clean, expand, decorate... and open surprise packages!
The universe of No Space For Salad is colorful, lighthearted and a little absurd. You're a newcomer in a quirky food truck franchise. The planets are small. The aliens are goofy. The narrative unfolds gently, in the background, through encounters, deliveries, and strange recipes.
We’re a team of two independent developers, working on this project in our spare time. We come from backgrounds in game design, 3D art, illustration, and animation.
We love playing games together and even more, crafting them together.
We often participate in game jams to improve our skills, and we’re always grateful for the players who support our work.
Our approach to game design is simple: clear ideas, simple interactions, and the best game feel we can achieve through polish.
Thanks for reading, and see you soon on the road.
